Tapankumar Shah, Senior Director and Asia Area Cluster Head at AstraZeneca, is a global leader in clinical operations with over 17 years of experience in clinical research and operations. He leads a team of over 200 clinical operations professionals across 6 countries, overseeing the planning, execution, and quality of clinical trials for various therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular, respiratory, immunology, rare diseases, oncology, etc.
As a clinical operations leader, he is passionate about delivering excellence in clinical development and ensuring patient safety and compliance. He is trained as a pharmacist with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research. At present, he is also pursuing Master of Technology degree in Data Science and Machine Learning. He has also contributed to multiple transformation and strategic initiatives within AstraZeneca, enhancing the efficiency, agility, and diversity of clinical operations function.
