Clarion Hotel & Congress Copenhagen Airport

A must-attend event during the SCDM 2026 EMEA Conference, the EMEA Leadership Forum brings together senior clinical data leaders, industry partners, and regulators who share a commitment to shaping the future value of clinical data in an increasingly complex trial landscape. Designed for organizations and leaders who are actively investing in what the next era of the discipline demands, the Forum creates space to step back, think strategically, and position for what comes next.

A must-attend event during the SCDM EMEA Conference, the EMEA Leadership Forum brings together senior clinical data leaders, industry partners, and regulators who share a commitment to shaping the future value of clinical data in an increasingly complex trial landscape. Designed for organizations and leaders who are actively investing in what the next era of the discipline demands, the Forum creates space to step back, think strategically, and position for what comes next.

Beyond the CDM to CDS Transformation: What Comes Next?

Following several years of rapid change, the clinical data profession has moved decisively beyond the question of why transformation was needed. Across the industry, the shift from Clinical Data Management (CDM) to Clinical Data Science (CDS) is underway – and in many organisations, well advanced.

The focus moves from transformation as an achievement to leadership readiness as a requirement. Through senior level discussion, peer benchmarking, and candid reflection, participants will assess how far the CDM to CDS transition has truly progressed: what has delivered real impact, where capability and influence have grown, and where structural, cultural, or leadership gaps continue to limit scale.

Importantly, the Leadership Forum offers a rare opportunity to reflect alongside peers who are navigating the same complexity, a space few leaders have within their own organisations. By stepping outside company specific contexts, participants can situate their progress within a broader industry reality and test their assumptions against others facing similar expectations and constraints.

From this shared reality check, the Leadership Forum forward. Discussions will centre on what clinical data leadership must look like next to meet Vision 2030 ambitions. Vision 2030 articulates the future direction for the profession: a patient centred, intelligent, and digitally connected clinical data function, where strong leadership, advanced capabilities, and modern operating models enable clinical data to more directly inform decisions and improve patient outcomes.

By combining honest assessment with forward‑looking, pragmatic dialogue, this event is designed to help senior leaders translate reflection into concrete, actionable direction – for their organisations and for the profession as a whole.

Topic 1: Evaluating the Maturity and Impact of the CDM to CDS Transition

This session examines the current state of the CDM to CDS transition across organisations, focusing on measurable progress, realised outcomes, and remaining limitations. Participants will assess how changes in roles, technologies, and organisational structures have translated into decision quality, operational effectiveness, and strategic influence, while identifying persistent structural, cultural, and capability gaps that constrain impact at scale.

Topic 2: Capability and Workforce Requirements for Post Transformation Clinical Data Functions

This discussion explores the skills, competencies, and operating models required to sustain and advance clinical data science functions beyond the initial CDM to CDS transition. Emphasis will be placed on future‑ready capabilities – technical, analytical, and leadership‑oriented – and on how organisations can systematically develop teams equipped to lead complex, technology‑enabled clinical development environments.
